"I drive to downtown Omaha for work everyday. With some of the best roads in the country, the traffic is not nearly as bad as it was in Dallas; where I moved from. One day after work I was driving home down 6 when it started pouring down rain. This usually makes a lot of drivers skittish so I drove cautiously down the road. A few minutes later I get rear ended by this International BoxTruck. While still in shock I looked behind me and my trunk was bent upwards and the rear glass was shattered. The police and ambulance finally came; and asked me if I was ok. I said yes but my brand new Nissan Altima is destroyed. I pulled out my insurance card immediately and called in to report the accident. Once that was done I got out of my car to get the owner of the truck's insurance information. After talking with him you could obviously tell he had been drinking. The tow truck came and there went my car to some body shop the insurance company recommended.
After a few days, the insurance company called me and said your vehicle is going to be fixed; that the damages were not enough to total the car out. I was like " great, now i have a wrecked vehicle and its obviously going to be on my Carfax Report. Later that day the insurance adjuster handling my claim told me it was going to be almost $13,000 in repairs. I asked him about diminished value and he told me I had to talk with the adjuster at the claims office. So I called into my claims adjuster and she said to hire a certified auto appraiser to perform a diminished value appraisal. So after calling several companies, I hired Pinnacle Auto Appraisers. They seemed to be the only company that knew how to do the appraisal and what obstacles I might face while filing the claim. After a few weeks have gone by, I got a call from my insurance company. They said they received my appraisal and that they were going to pay almost $5,000 in diminished value. Earlier that week I went to the dealership and they said between $4-5k so I knew Pinnacle knew what they were doing. I recommend these guys to everyone that is filing an insurance claim. Not only are they thorough but very educated when it comes to dealing with the insurance company." ~ Brandon P. - Omah, NE
